# Terms of Service | Basement Flood Toronto URL: https://basementfloodtoronto.ca/terms-of-service/ # Basement Flood Toronto: Terms of Service for Emergency Dispatch, Restoration, Waterproofing and Subsidy-Eligible Installations These terms of service set out how Basement Flood Toronto quotes, performs, bills and warrants basement flood response, restoration and waterproofing work in Toronto and the GTA, including emergency dispatch fees, insurance direct-billing and Toronto subsidy coordination. Last updated: September 24, 2026 ## 1\. Agreement to Terms By using this website or booking work with Basement Flood Toronto, you agree to these terms. Each job is also governed by the written scope you approve, and where the two differ, the signed written scope applies. ## 2\. Quotes and Published Pricing All prices are in Canadian dollars (CAD). Price ranges published on this website are genuine scope bands, not guarantees of a final price. Your final price is set in a written scope after an on-site assessment of the water source, IICRC contamination category, affected square footage and the permanent solution you choose. Every written scope itemises the emergency fee, extraction, drying, cleanup and any permanent solution separately. Applicable taxes are added. ## 4\. Emergency Dispatch Fee The emergency dispatch fee of $250-$500 CAD is quoted by phone before a crew is sent. It is waived when we extract water on the same visit. It applies when a crew attends and no extraction or work is performed at your request. ## 5\. Insurance and Direct Billing We do not decide insurance coverage and we do not promise it. Where you authorise it, we bill your insurer directly for approved scope, subject to your policy limits and adjuster approval. You remain responsible for your deductible, for any items the insurer does not approve, and for upgrades you choose. If a claim is denied in whole or in part, the approved written scope remains payable by you for work completed at your request. We are not a preferred vendor for any insurer. ## 6\. Toronto Basement Flooding Protection Subsidy For eligible City of Toronto properties, we confirm eligibility, apply for required permits, book inspections and file subsidy paperwork. The subsidy award, up to $1,700 CAD per qualifying device and up to $3,400 CAD per property, is decided solely by the City of Toronto after inspection. We do not guarantee any award, and our invoice is payable regardless of the city's decision. The program does not apply to properties outside the City of Toronto, including Vaughan and Mississauga. ## 7\. Property Ownership and Access When you submit a form, you confirm that you own the property or are authorised to request work on it. You agree to give safe access to the areas being worked on and to tell us about known hazards, including electrical issues, gas appliances and asbestos-containing materials. ## 8\. Contents and Disposal Materials and contents contaminated by Category 3 water, or that cannot be restored, are photographed and logged before disposal. By approving the scope you authorise disposal of items listed as non-salvageable. ## 9\. Scheduling and Cancellation The 90-minute dispatch window is our standard target and can be affected by severe weather, road closures and citywide storm events. For scheduled work such as waterproofing and installations, please give at least 24 hours' notice to reschedule. Permit and inspection timelines are set by the City and may move project dates. ## 10\. Workmanship Warranty We provide a written workmanship warranty of 1 to 5 years depending on the service, stated on your written scope. The warranty covers defects in our workmanship. It does not cover damage from new events beyond the scope of the work, misuse, lack of maintenance described in your handover notes, or manufacturer defects in equipment, which are covered by the manufacturer's warranty. ## 11\. Payment Unless otherwise agreed in writing, balances not covered by direct billing are due on completion. Accepted payment methods include cash, credit card, debit and e-transfer. ## 12\. Limitation of Liability We carry $2M commercial general liability and $5M pollution liability insurance and are WSIB registered. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for pre-existing conditions discovered during the work. ## 13\.
